ANOTHER 30-UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING COMING

It appears another 30 apartments are being planned for Maplewood, at the corner of Boyden Avenue and Tuscan Road, according to Mayor Vic DeLuca's latest column in the Hilton Neighborhood Association newsletter.

Deluca writes that: "After too many years of neglect, the closed church at Tuscan Road and Boyden Avenue has a new owner." But he does not indicate who the owner is, only that he is an "architect who lives in town and has done other projects here."

He also states that, "his plans are to build a new 30-unit apartment building."

This comes as the Township is already debating the planned 20-unit housing/retail building at the former Maplewood Village post office, approved a new 235-unit site at the former PSE&G location on Boyden, and a plan to expand the 125-unit Maplewood Crossing complex on Boyden with another 25 units.

We reached out to the mayor for more details on the 30-unit plan, but have yet to hear back.
