CLINTON PRINCIPAL IS SIXTH IN DISTRICT TO DEPART IN PAST 18 MONTHS

Yet another principal is leaving the South Orange Maplewood School District.

Patricia O'Neill, principal of Clinton School, is not even waiting until the end of the school year, announcing she plans to leave in January.

See her letter to Superintendent John Ramos HERE.

Reached for comment, O'Neill declined to offer specifics for her departure, saying only it was for personal reasons and "my priorities have shifted."

Clinton becomes the sixth school in just over the past year to change principals. Since mid-2014, new top administrators have been placed in Columbia High School, Maplewood Middle School, South Orange Middle School, and Jefferson and South Mountain schools. Only Marshall, Seth Boyden and Tuscan have had the same principal for more than two years.

At the same time, the district has also changed superintendents twice, with former Superintendent Brian Osborne leaving in mid-2014, replaced for a year by Acting Superintendent Jim Memoli. He was just replaced in August by Dr. John Ramos.
