RYAN AND LEVENTHAL BID A FOND FAREWELL

Jerry Ryan was allowed to chair his final TC meeting Tuesday night

It was an emotional goodbye Tuesday night to two of the Township Committee's longtime members as Jerry Ryan and Kathy Leventhal bid farewell at their final meeting.

Ryan was voted out in 2015 and Leventhal chose not to run again. They will be replaced by incoming members Greg Lembrich and Nancy Adams on Jan.1

But Tuesday night was all about them as Township residents and staff offered praise and congratulations and Ryan and Leventhal returned the favor.

Leventhal noted that since she joined the governing body, it has grown in diversity and inclusion.

Ryan took a minor shot at his opponents, noting "the same people that campaigned to get me thrown out of office last time got together and campaigned to get me thrown out of office this time. Which probably means I'm hard to kill."

Mayor Vic Deluca also allowed Ryan, a former mayor, to chair the meeting for the final gathering.
