CHS FOOTBALL COACH DEPARTING AFTER TWO SEASONS; CALLS SCHOOL "FABULOUS"

After just two seasons at the helm, Columbia High School head football coach John Power is leaving for a job at Morristown High School.

Several parents confirmed receiving an email notice about his departure this week.

Power came to the school in the 2014 season and led the Cougars to a first round playoff game last season.

Power praised his time in Maplewood via email:

Columbia is a fabulous school. The students, faculty, Ms. Aaron, and especially Larry Busichio are exceptional and the team will be in great hands with their new coach. I wish them the best, and if they ever need anything I will be more than happy to help them.
