MOST OF MEMORIAL PARK STILL CLOSED

Most of Memorial Park will remain fenced off and closed until tonight's fireworks, police said, noting that it will reopen at 6 p.m. for the amusements and food vendors from Monday night, with fireworks set for 9 p.m.

Last night's fireworks were postponed due to rain.

Scanner indicates some commuters were knocking down fences and traveling through the park as usual to get to the train.

There were a few entrances that were open slightly, but others closed. A YMCA camp group was unable to enter, while the circus crew was still packing up to depart this morning.

The playground/tennis courts/basketball courts at the north end are open and will remain so.
