UNION MAN ARRESTED IN BEATING DEATH OF MAPLEWOOD RESIDENT

A Union Township man has been arrested and charged in the beating death of a Maplewood man whose body was found there last week.

NJ.com reports:

ELIZABETH — A Union Township man has been arrested and charged with the killing of 25-year-old Matthew Murrell earlier this week, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Saturday.
Park said Yves Marcellus, 25, fatally beat Murrell at the home at 870 Salem Road, Union. Marcellus is charged with first-degree murder and was arrested without incident at his workplace on Route 22 in Union Friday night.
Police were called to the home just before 5 a.m. Tuesday and found Murrell in a side yard, Park said. He was pronounced dead a short while later, she said.
