The school district will continue to have a librarian for each of the middle schools, a change from the recent budget plan that had indicated one librarian would serve both middle schools.
District officials said the change occurred, while a job posting on the district web site for an additional librarian confirmed the move.
The plan for a shared librarian was part of the budget adopted in the spring that included 11 teacher job cuts, nine of them at Columbia High School.
The change follows a major online protest effort and petition drive that urged each middle school keep its own librarian.
