SMALL BIZ WORKSHOP AT LIBRARY TODAY

New Jersey Division of Taxation Small Business Workshop

10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Main Library – A free workshop on how small businesses can meet state requirements. It will cover:
The Registration Process
New or potential business owners will learn the definitions of different business structures and how to properly register a small business with the State of New Jersey.

Reporting Income
Business income is reported to the State of New Jersey. This program will explain the flow of income and how it is reported from the business to the individual.

Employer Responsibilities
Small businesses may be required to collect and remit certain New Jersey business taxes. If your business is going to have employees, you have tax obligations to the State. This seminar gives an overview of filing responsibilities and how to withhold tax for New Jersey employees.

Sales and Use Tax
This seminar gives a general understanding of New Jersey Sales and Use Tax laws and filing requirements and exemption certificates.

A Small Business Administration Business Opportunity Specialist will also be on hand to give a brief presentation on federal contracting information, requirements, eligibility, and certification for small business owners, including women-owned businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses.
