PLANNING BOARD POSTPONES POST OFFICE PROJECT HEARING

The Planning Board on Thursday postponed considering a request from developers JMF Properties to amend their plans for the former Maplewood Post Office site.

JMF, which has dubbed its 20-apartment, five-retail complex, Clarus, had asked to amend the site plan to allow an outside garbage dumpster and some other changes. See background on that HERE.

The original approval required all refuse to be stored inside the building, which will include a new restaurant. JMF claims an outdoor garbage collection is needed to help the restaurant properly operate.

Planning Board Chair Tom Carlson said the board had other items to consider first and did not get to the JMF plan change. The board will consider it at its next meeting in November.
