POLICE TRAFFIC CRACKDOWN RESULTS IN NEARLY 300 TICKETS IN NOVEMBER

The stepped up police effort at pedestrian safety and traffic control has apparently yielded some strong results, according to police.

A traffic enforcement summary issued for November indicates police held 489 radar/speed enforcement details resulting in 408 motor vehicle stops and 293 summonses issued.

The safety crack-down follows several incidents during the past years that included a pedestrian struck on Prospect Street and a man hit at Springfield Avenue near Jennifer Lane.

Just last week, a person was struck in front of the Walgreen's on Springfield Avenue.
