WANT ANOTHER REASON TO BE MAD AT STATE GOVT.?
Yes, our great state leaders have decided to help fund the embarrassing Jersey Shore TV show.
According to AP:
The state Economic Development Authority on Wednesday approved covering $420,000 of the production costs for the hit reality series' inaugural 2009 season.
Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon told the Statehouse Bureau of The Star-Ledger of Newark and The Record newspaper he can't believe taxpayers are paying "for fake tanning for `Snooki' and `The Situation."'
The show centers on the cast living it up along the beach and boardwalk in Seaside Heights.
Seaside Heights Mayor P. Kenneth Hershey says the local economy gets a boost when the cast is in the town.
Gov. Chris Christie suspended the film tax credit program in 2010 to close a budget deficit.

TRENTON, N.J. - September 15, 2011 (WPVI) -- MTV's "Jersey Shore" GTL motto might now stand for gym-tax credit-laundry instead of gym-tan-laundry.

NEW BUSINESSES ON SPRINGFIELD AVE.
After a recent wave of shutdowns, we have a new wave of re-openings or new openings.
First, at Springfield and Boyden, the corner Hot Dog stand has reopened yet again, with what looks like a great menu of wings, hot dogs and more. We sampled the wings, awesome, and hot dogs, excellent. They also deliver.
In addition, ID Bakery is off and running at Indiana and Springfield, while Dancers Pointe dance studio is in the former Stories in Motion space.
Then there is Edo's Quality Cakes, set to occupy the former Kari's Cafe spot at Prospect and Springfield.

CHS FOOTBALL GETTING THE SHAFT
If you wanted to find out how the Cougars did last Friday in their first game against Kearny, good luck.
Had to hunt high and low online and barely found coverage at the Star-Ledger and News-Record.
Neither apparently had anyone covering the details.
They lost a close one, 27-26, and are gearing up for the first home game this Friday, 7 p.m. against East Orange.
