BULLETIN BOARD PETITION ALIVE AND WELL

Among the great items and promotions at Green Day Saturday in Memorial Park was the petition to get rid of the glass-enclosed, key-locked Maplewood Village Alliance-controlled bulletin board in the Village that replaced the open, unlocked version.

Keep up the fight!

PLAY BALL! - OPENING DAY PARADE

PETITION COMING AGAINST LOCKED UP BULLETIN BOARD

Opposition to the new glass-enclosed, key-locked and Maplewood Village Alliance-controlled bulletin board is growing

PATCH reports that there will be a petition against the move that locks out the average citizen from the Maplewood Village bulletin board at today's Green Day event.

See more HERE

The Alliance also issued this statement, first posted on PATCH:

The new sign was developed in partnership by the MVA with the Civic Association. The goal was to create a space that will allow us to provide a map and other information for people who may be unfamiliar with Maplewood and our shops, restaurants and public spaces as well as to provide the Civic Association with a space to list events and other activities of interest to residents and visitors. The sign and the installation were donated to the Village and the sign was installed in a way that will allow it to be moved should expected construction begin at that site in the future.
As a point of clarification, keys to the Board are held by both the Alliance and the Civic Association. The Alliance is developing the business directory/map content for the sign and the Civic Association maintains responsibility for posting community flyers.

MEMORIAL PARK MAYHEM - NO PARKING TODAY

I am all for Green Day, which is happening today in Memorial Park from 11 to 4 and will be a great event.

But it appears the event has cut out a lot of parking around the location and is also taking place as many kids ball games are also set to occur in the park.

So no parking and extra demand for parking. Could it have been held Sunday?

But the park is ready
