HP NEW BURGER CHAMPS
We found a new burger champ last night. At Highland Place, which is touting a new burger menu, the wood-grilled beef was deliciousAlso did not hurt that they had great sounds playing from the Big Roy Band.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION AT ETHICAL CULTURE

FOUR ARRESTED IN DEADLY SHORT HILLS MALL CARJACKING

NEWARK — Nearly a week after 30-year-old Hoboken lawyer Dustin Friedland was gunned down in a deadly carjacking while returning to his vehicle in an upper level parking deck of the Mall at Short Hills, police this morning arrested four men on charges of murder.
The four, were identified as Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, Kevin Roberts, 35, all of Newark, and Hanif Thompson, 29, of Irvington. All were being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $2 million bail each.
Thompson was taken into custody at his home in Irvington. Ford and Roberts were arrested in Newark. Henry was arrested, by an FBI task force, at a hotel in Easton, Pa., said Anthony Ambrose, chief of detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. He said the arrests began around 9 p.m. Friday and concluded at about 3 a.m. today.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray, surrounded by representatives of state, federal and county law enforcement agencies that participated in the investigation, said in a press conference this morning announcing the arrests that they were "not here today for any victory dance."

THREE MAPLEWOODIANS ARRESTED ON POT CHARGES IN MADISON

MADISON — At about 10 p.m. on Nov. 30, police arrested four young men, three from Maplewood and one from Summit, after allegedly finding them smoking marijuana behind a dumpster at Madison Plaza.
William Gabrielsen, 20, of Summit and Ian Dahl, Andrew Adams and Matthew Gardner, all 20 and from Maplewood, were charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said that officers checking on a premises at the Madison Plaza encountered a group of four young men acting suspiciously behind a dumpster. When the officers approached the men, they tried to flee.
All four were apprehended and an investigation indicated the group was smoking marijuana, police said.
Each was released with a pending court appearance.
