After further investigation by Detectives this incident was determined to be unfounded. Video surveillance was viewed and helped to determine the incident did not occur.

The Maplewood Police Dept. is investigating an incident that occurred on 7/7/16 at 1230 hrs involving a suspicious red van. A 12 year old boy was riding his bicycle home from summer school when a red van driven by an older white male pulled up and attempted to ask him several questions. The boy rode away, returned home unharmed, and reported the incident to his parents several hours later. The van was last reported traveling down Sommer Ave towards Valley St. Residents are encouraged to notify the Police Dept in the event of any suspicious activity.
