CHURCH EMPLOYEE SURPRISED MAN WHO ASSAULTED HER.

The assault on a woman inside the rectory at St. Joseph's Church today -- first reported here just moments after police got the call -- apparently started after the 62-year-old woman surprised an intruder Wednesday morning in a basement.

A note to some parishioners this afternoon indicated the woman, later hospitalized, was thrown to the ground.

The note stated, in part:

As you have already heard,
she arrived at work this morning
and surprised an intruder in our
office, which is in the rectory basement.
Before escaping, he threw her to
the ground. She made her way
upstairs to alert other office staff ...
We are actively making sure that
the rectory, church and campus are
safe and have been working
with the police as the investigation continues.

Don't use commercially prepared, dry, or pelleted foods. The Fiji crested iguana, Brachylophus vitiensis, is now listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The amount of time it will take to go from liquid food to solid food will depend on the condition of the iguana.
