May 14, 2012: Theft from Autos. On 5/14/12, at 7:30 am, officers responded to an Orchard Rd. residence on a report that three vehicles had been rummaged through. Officers determined that two of the vehicles had actually been forced open with unknown tools. In addition, check books had been removed from two vehicles.
May 16, 2012: Unlawful Taking of Vehicles (Apprehended). On 5/16/12, at approximately 4:58 pm, officers responded to a Parker Avenue parking lot on a report of unauthorized juveniles inside of a vehicle. Officer T. Kincaid quickly determined that three privately owned school vans had been stolen with the keys and promptly abandoned in the parking lot, and that three juveniles had been observed fleeing on foot. Officer Kincaid broadcast a description, and several minutes later, Officer Reeves and Officer Weekes located three suspects matching the descriptions provided. A witness positively identified the juveniles, and they were subsequently transported to police headquarters where they were charged by the Youth Aid Bureau.
May 16, 2012: Criminal Mischief (Arrest Made). On 5/16/12, officers responded to a Princeton Street residence on a 9-1-1 report of a man destroying the house. Upon arrival, officers observed that the house was ransacked and that various items had been damaged, including a television and a VCR. Officers located the homeowner who reported that her son, Kevin Noel, 20, had gotten into a dispute with another family member and had broken the items in the residence. Officers searched the area for Noel, and Officer J. Zuhowski spotted him on Springfield Avenue near Yale Street. Noel was subsequently arrested on charges of criminal mischief and harassment.
May 17, 2012: Robbery. On 5/17/12, at approximately 9:09 am, officers responded to an Elmwood Avenue convenience store on a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers were met by the victim who reported that while helping a customer with his lottery winnings, an unknown suspect reached over the counter, grabbed him by the shirt and held a handgun to his chest. The suspect demanded money and the victim complied. The suspect then fled on foot eastbound on Elmwood Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male with medium complexion, late twenties, thin build, faded close cut beard, wearing a gray jacket, black knitted hat and blue jeans. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
May 19, 2012: Theft. On 5/19/12, officers responded to a Girard Place residence on a report of theft. The resident reported that she had left (2) Mastercard gift cards valued at $100 each on the kitchen counter on 5/17/12 at approximately 5:30 pm and returned to the residence at 10:30 pm to find the cards missing.
