MAPLEWOOD RECEIVES STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection today announced it would provide a $20,000 historic preservation grant to Maplewood, one of four towns in Essex County to receive such grants.

A press release on the grant stated Maplewood's funding would go toward a project that:

Proposes the fourth phase of intensive-architectural survey (the three previous phases were funded by previous CLG grants). The fourth phase will address approximately 270 historic resources in the College Hill neighborhood.

The other towns receiving funds include Montclair, West Orange and Cape May City.
