MAPLEWOODIAN OF THE WEEK: WAYNE EASTMAN

School board veteran Wayne Eastman unseated three-year board president Beth Daugherty in a close, 5-4, vote to take the spot as Board of Education president last Monday.

 He then led an effort to extend the superintendent search by at least a few weeks.

 That earns him our Maplewoodian of the Week.
