POST OFFICE PROJECT ACTIVITY TO DISRUPT PARKING TUESDAY

From the Township:

Tree and Stump Removal at Post Office

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016 the Department of Public Works will be removing the stump from the Post Office parking lot.

DPW will also be removing and relocating the trees, community bulletin board, and benches from the front of the building.

In preparation for potential traffic issues, DPW will be placing barricades on Monday, February 29th. Approximately 15 parking spaces will be affected. The estimated completion time will be six hours. However, DPW will make every attempt to complete the task.

It is wonderful that the DPW will be relocating the trees from the front of the Post Office. I believe they are going to live in Maplecrest Park. The DPW has been very responsive to the request of a number of citizens (Engage Maplewood) that these not just get dumped with demo.
Yeah DPW!
And thanks to JMF for agreeing to this.

Our Ricalton Square is being eroded for the benefit of the developer of Post House. Why are we losing more green space in town and giving it up for trucks? While I know it is a small diagonal cut through, it is still a sad fact. Green becomes black (asphalt)...sigh. Are we a "Green Town"?...really?
