TOWNSHIP CONSIDERS MERGING RECREATION WITH SOUTH ORANGE

As the Township begins discussions with South Orange to possibly merge fire departments, Township Committee Member Nancy Adams said similar talks may begin to do the same with the recreation departments.

Noting that Recreation Director Keith Knudsen has announced his departure for a new job in Roxbury, Adams, who is a member of the TC Recreation and Human Services Committee, said she plans to meet with South Orange officials today to review the idea.

"It is an opportunity to discuss sharing recreation services,"
Adams said during Tuesday's Township Committee meeting. "More than likely it would be something we would consider with South Orange."

Knudsen's last day is Feb. 24. His interim replacement starts today.
