RECYCLING CONTRACT OUT TO BID AGAIN

The Township formally launched the bidding process for a company to handle the weekly recycling pick-up in town.

After a problematic process last year that ended up in court and led to the Township paying $65,000 more than it should have, the TC had the option to retain Gaeta Recycling of Paterson for another year, but chose to put the contract out for bid to see if a better deal could be reached.

"The Township is interested in seeing if other companies are interested," Township Administrator Joseph Manning told Maplewoodian.com via email. "And if it could result in a lower cost."

The bidding specifications are available HERE and all bids must be submitted by February 10. Gaeta's current contract is up on February 29.

How about recycling pick up at the rear of our houses, like trash?
