LOCAL CAMPAIGN STRATEGIES: FROM COFFEE SLEEVES TO ROBOCALLS

With one day left until Election Day, the campaigns are going beyond the usual lawn signs and mailer ads, with some interesting approaches.

First, there's Republican Township Committee candidate Mike Summersgill, who used what he termed electronic lawn signs, with a website where voters could donate to a local charity and give their support on a web map denoting where they live.

He also took to coffee cup sleeves around town with his message to voters:

Over in the school board race, incumbent Johanna Wright put her message on placemats at local eateries. We found this one at Bunny's in South Orange:

Then there are the robocalls that began Sunday night, with Incumbent Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad asking for votes for herself and running mate James Davis. Hear that below:

Board President Elizabeth Baker also sent out a recorded phone plea seeking votes for her three endorsed candidates: Lawson-Muhammad, Davis and Challenger Susie Adamson.
