FIRE DEPARTMENT MERGER, ST. JAMES GATE SIDEWALK CAFE AMONG TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE ITEMS

The possible merging of Maplewood's fire department with South Orange will be the subject of a review expected to be approved by the Township Committee tonight.

The TC will consider a resolution to fund half of a $46,000 feasibility study by Manitou Inc. of Peekskill, N.Y. South Orange would pay the other half. 

Also on the agenda tonight is consideration of a request by St. James Gate to extend its alcohol sales to a sidewalk cafe in front of its current location. The TC, acting as the Alcohol Beverage Control Board, must approve it before the sidewalk serving can be done.
