ESSEX COUNTY — The cost of prescription drugs can put a dent in your wallet — especially if you’re paying full price at the pharmacy.
In an effort to help residents save money, Essex County officials announced yesterday a new, discount prescription drug program. By next week, county residents will receive the discount card in the mail. There are no application process or age or income restrictions.
Using the card can save residents an average of $29 per prescription, said Erison Rodriguez, program manager at ProAct, the New York-based pharmacy benefit management company that Essex is partnering with.
