Quarterback Damion Thomas tossed four touchdowns and Jafar Thomas scored three times as East Orange defeated Columbia, 53-26, last night in Columbia.
East Orange broke a 12-12 tie with 34 straight points from the second-through-fourth quarter to take a 46-12 lead.
In that stretch, Damion Thomas threw second-quarter TD passes to Thomas (85 yards) and Shamier Moon (18 yards) and a 49-yard TD pass to Al-Shamier Fields in the third quarter. Devante Williams hit Marquis Adams with a 90-yard TD pass and Shamier Moon broke a 49-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for East Orange.
Deion Hudson threw a 51-yard TD pass to Manny Grant and Tyshawn Thomas returned a blocked punt for an 8-yard score for Columbia in the fourth quarter, before Thomas found Moon with an 18-yard TD pass.
Columbia tied the game at 12 in the first quarter on a 3-yard run by Kenneth Antwi. Hudson threw a 20-yard TD pass to Grant for the other score. Thomas had TD runs of 60 and 1 yards for East Orange in the quarter.
