Maplewood's own Beatrice Miller, who gained national fame on the X Factor TV show last fall, has signed her first record deal, according to a press release from Hollywood/Syco Records.

A fourteen year-old Maplewood, NJ native, Beatrice wowed the nation as a finalist on the second season of The X Factor with her poignant and soulful renditions of songs such as Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and Dido's "White Flag."
Beatrice is the first signing to the Hollywood/Syco Records collaborative label arrangement. You may recall Miller, a student at Maplewood Middle School, drew nationwide fans after reaching the final rounds of X Factor.
