All this week, our seventh and eighth graders are taking the NJ ASK state assessment test, and that appears to be all they are doing.
With half days each day, they take the tests, then go home. So should these days count as school days among the 180 required by law?
The tests have no impact on grades, just widely criticized state assessments.
Sixth graders are taking it as well, but for some reason they have a full school day.
The seventh and eighth graders are not learning anything and why must the afternoons be canceled? Students have so many days off already, and then make up a snow day last Friday with many absences.
Not smart management.
