THEFTS, BURGLARY AND SHOPLIFTING LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police:

June 5, 2017; Theft; A Lyft driver reported that after dropping off four males in the area of Tuscan Rd and Boyden Ave, he discovered money missing from his wallet.

June 6, 2017; Burglary; At approximately 12:15 PM, a home on Coolidge Rd had it’s alarm activated.  When the homeowner returned home, they discovered damage to a door.  It did not appear that anything was missing at the time of the report.

June 6, 2017; Bicycle Theft; An unsecured bicycle was stolen from the yard of a home on Meadowbrook Rd.

June 7, 2017; Shoplifting Arrest; At approximately 4 PM, a male was observed concealing items at Walgreens on Springfield Ave.  When confronted he fled the store, but was located a short distance away by patrols.  The male, Donail England, age 42 of Newark was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting.

June 8, 2017; Theft from Auto; Between 4PM and 9 PM an unsecured vehicle parked on Coolidge Rd was entered and multiple items including credit cards were stolen.

June 9, 2017; Bicycle Theft; At approximately 6:30 PM a twelve year old lent his bicycle to another juvenile who left with it and did not return.  Patrols located the 16 year old male riding the bicycle a short distance away.

All charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
