CARLA CARABALLO CANDIDATE LETTER

February 20, 2017
Mr. Ian Grodman, Chair
Maplewood Democratic Committee
Maplewood Township, NJ

Dear Mr. Grodman,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Carla G. Caraballo. I writing to you to express my deepest interest in candidacy for a seat in the Township Committee this year 2017.

I have been a resident in Maplewood since 2010. My wife and I moved here from NYC to be in a more residential neighborhood. We love Maplewood. Our two daughters are adults and have young families of their own but visit often with our grandchildren of 3 years and a recent one of 3 weeks, along with my mother and sisters. We enjoy the town’s pool immensely.

In the past, I have seen many changes. I decided to participate in the Neighborhood Watch Association back in 2012. I have met several times with Mayor Deluca, Chief Cimino, and Mr. Brownlee concerning our neighborhood safety and discuss several options for our neighbors. All which I am very delighted with the outcome.

I am currently serving in the United States Air Force Reserves, as a flight nurse for the past 22 years and counting. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse in my civilian career for the past 22 years as well. I am also currently attending Fairleigh Dickinson University for my Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. I volunteer in the school’s Veteran’s Office as a student counselor.

I strongly believe I am a great asset to the Township Committee due to, not only, my military background but my genuine concern for our citizens, the growth of our town, and safety amongst all. I have great rapport with all I speak with and I have experience speaking with leaders of high military rankings. My integrity, tactfulness, discipline and respect will serve this town well.

I look forward to meeting with you and MDC in the near future. Thank you for time and consideration in this matter.

Respectfully,
Carla G. Caraballo
