MUGGERS ARRESTED AFTER ASSAULT AND THEFT

From Maplewood Police today:

July 3, 2012: Robbery; At approximately 1:30 AM, a pedestrian reports that they were walking home following a party.  They were walking on Woodland Rd when a vehicle pulled up to him.  He was assaulted by four individuals and his bag and cell phone were taken.  The victim was knocked unconscious, awoke, continued home and contacted police.  Following investigation Armand Spears, Patrice Golden, Lateef Ahre and a juvenile, all from South Orange, were arrested.

July 3, 2012: Motor Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours a 2001 VW Passat was stolen from a residence on Prospect St.  The vehicle was later recovered by Hillside Police following a pursuit and two arrests were made.

July 4, 2012: Motor Vehicle Theft; A Boyden Ave resident reports that their 1999 Toyota Camry was stolen between the hours of  8 PM and midnight. The vehicle was later recovered in Newark.

July 6, 2012: Theft of Car Parts; At approximately 230 AM, Officers responded to DCH Audi on Millburn Ave for the report of two individuals in the lot. Two individuals dressed in dark clothing attempted to elude patrols.  Sam Epperly of Sussex and James Zabriskie of Belleville were apprehended by Officer’s Weagley and Gearren.  The individuals were attempting to steal parts from the new vehicles.  They were charged accordingly.

July 6^th-7^th, 2012: Attempt Vehicle Theft;  A Hilton Ave resident reports that during the overnight hours damage was made to the door lock of his 2007 Infinity.  The Detective Bureau responded and processed the vehicle.
