SMARTPHONES CRIME WAVE AT MMS

Sources at Maplewood Middle School indicate something of a cell phone crime wave has hit.

At least 10 smartphones have reportedly been stolen from students, mostly from lockers, in the past two weeks.

Sources said this has prompted the school to suspend its rule that barred students from having smartphones in class, a situation that had led many to keep them in lockers.

Maplewood Police and school district officials have not responded to requests for comment.
