TC APPROVES SMALLER BUDGET THAN LAST YEAR, BUT TAXES WILL GO UP

The Township Committee on Tuesday night introduced a $39.9 million municipal budget, which is nearly $300,000 less than last year and includes a likely tax increase of under 2%. That amounts to $75 for an average home assessed at $395,000.

A budget hearing is set for May 20.

The TC also approved, in a split 3-2 vote, allowing some six-foot fences on private property, while also moving ahead with plans to merge the Women's Club parking lot with the Highland Place lot.
