In town to promote their new book, Redeeming The Dream, which chroniceled their legal battle for two same-sex couples who challenged and beat down California's discriminatory anti-gay marriage Proposition 8, the pair spoke and took questions before signing copies for hundreds who attended.
The duo was so popular the event was moved to Maplewood Middle School.
We were there and recorded a clip of their opening comments about the case and the couples they helped to support.
Too bad the well-known MMS heat box of an auditorium could not be blocked with some air conditioning. Hopefully Words did not have to pay too much to stage the event in the oven-like conditions.
