The state-mandated superintendent salary cap, which was among the reasons Superintendent Brian Osborne left S.O.-Maplewood schools for a new, higher-paying job in New Rochelle, N.Y., may be eliminated under legislation being considered in Trenton.
The Star-Ledger Friday published a strong editorial against the cap. Osborne, who will leave the district on June 30, will make $265,000 in his new post, well above the $175,000 he could make here under the cap.
