WHAT IS VOXER AND HOW IS IT HELPING THAT PHYS. ED. CLASS?

From the school district:

Voxer

Along with the many technological advances that already are in place through the district’s 2 back to back US Dept. of Education PEP grants, PE teachers are communicating with colleagues across the district and ACROSS the WORLD with an app called “VOXER”. Voxer is a hands free walkie-talkie app for smartphone (or accessible through www.voxer.com) that allows teachers to speak with each other in real time all across the globe on topics that interest them most.

This instant connection and professional development tool is meant to be another way that teachers can seek out best practice, share ideas and find resources to help them in their classrooms.  For our health and physical education staff, many vox “chats” as they are called, have them plugged into PE technology ideas, grade level lessons, assessment and more.

Ms. Judy LoBianco, District Supervisor of Health, Physical Education and Nursing Services introduced the app after a conference she attended this past summer. “When I heard about this resource, I knew it would change the game about how we communicate, share and receive professional development as a staff.”
