At a time when the school district has lost its business administrator and the Maplewood Middle School principal in less than a month, another top administrator is leaving the district.
Columbia High School Guidance Director Jennifer Giordano, who has spent 10 years in the job, is leaving for a similar post at Morristown High School.
The Morris School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Giordano at its June 27 meeting at a salary of $149,000. She will begin on Sept. 1, 2016.
That is a slight raise over her CHS salary of $140,000, according to records.
"Dr. Giordano has been an integral member of the leadership team at Columbia High School for 10 years," Superintendent John Ramos said in a statement. "Among other tasks, she has developed the school's complex master schedule and directed the guidance department. We wish her well in this new chapter in her career, and we thank her for her service to SOMSD."
She is the latest in a string of recent departures that include Business Administrator Cheryl Schneider, who is departing for a similar Millburn post, and MMS Principal Jerrill Adams, who abruptly resigned on June 20 apparently without any new job.
MMS parents have still not received any official word on Adams' resignation or any word on how or when a replacement will be chosen.
