West Orange High School handily
defeated Columbia, 49-21, on the Cougars' home turf Thursday night.
West Orange senior Danielo Francois dominated the game with three
touchdowns: the first on a 50-yard touchdown pass in the first from
senior Quarterback Jonah Brodsky; a 12-yard rush in the second and an
11-yard rush in the third.
Sophomore Michael Ojusi had two touchdowns, 17 carries, and rushed for 198 yards.
Brodsky went 17-for-32 with 247 yards passing and a touchdown.
Junior Dylan Ryan scored in the third on a four yard rush while senior Amir Venson scored in the fourth with a 32-yard rush.
The Cougars were unable to stop the Mountaineers despite some strong
work from Senior Jimmy Martinez, who had two rushing TDs for Columbia.
Evander Jackson scored a touchdown in the second with a 78 yard rush.
Columbia plays Weequahic next on Oct. 10 at 7:00 pm.
