RYAN LEADS TC PRIMARY WRITE-IN BALLOTS; BUT WHO VOTED FOR DARTH VADER?

Last week's Township Committee primary election brought easy victories for Democrat Frank McGehee and Republican Mike Summersgill.

But it also brought a string of write-in votes. While there were no such write-ins for the GOP primary, some 22 voters chose a different person in the Democratic primary.

The biggest write-in candidate was former TC member and mayor Jerry Ryan, who lost re-election last year. Final results had 10 of the 22 write-ins voting for Ryan.

Other votes went to former TC candidate Lee Navlen and former school board candidate Marian Raab. There were also write-ins for Dark Angel, Mickey Mouse, Darth Vader and Leafy McBlower.
