Citing traffic and aesthetic concerns by some, the Township Committee cancelled plans to place an electronic message sign in front of Town Hall.
At Tuesday's TC meeting, Mayor Vic Deluca said he had heard from residents about the potential safety impact.
The TC had set aside $30,000 for the sign, which would have been similar to one at Columbia High School, but may now use some of that money for more temporary signs to be used in specific situations.
"I'd be in favor of ditching the plan for the permanent sign and going for another trailer sign," Deluca said.

Township Administrator Joseph Manning said he would pursue sizes and prices for additional temporary trailer signs and report back.
