COLUMBIA FOOTBALL LOSES A CLOSE ONE TO WEEQUAHIC

Al Khadir Ports rushed for 240 yards and two touchdown on just 10 carries to lead Weequahic to a 13-7 victory over Columbia at Untermann Field in Newark.

Ports, a Rutgers commit, opened the scoring with a 78-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He then made it 13-0 with a 67-yard scoring run in the third quarter. On defense, Ports had seven tackles, Jakim Ward made 10 tackles, Alex Martinez added nine tackles and Derrick Jones had eight tackles and a sack.

Jimmy Martinez rushed for 50 yards on seven carries and had a 3-yard rushing TD for Columbia in the fourth quarter. Kiambu Jones added 17 carries for 87 yards. 
Christian Paul-Pierre led the defense with 11 tackles and Eli Rivera had seven tackles and an interception.
