PENDING SNOWSTORM PROMPTS RECREATION PLAN WARNING

From South Orange Recreation Department, which also serves hundreds of Maplewood residents:

Hello.

You have received this email because a member of your family is enrolled in a program offered by the South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs and/or your organization uses the Baird.

With winter now upon us, this is just a notice regarding various ways you will know if buildings are closed and/or programs are cancelled due to weather.  We DO NOT send out individual emails.  Please make note of the following and plan accordingly:

There are 2 ways to receive notification of building closures or the cancellation, relocation or rescheduling of recreation department programs throughout the year:

- Follow 'SOrangeRec' on Twitter to receive notification directly to your mobile device.
- Call the department code-a-phone at 973-762-0748

If no message is posted or received for the CURRENT DATE, all programs take place as scheduled.  If weather is changeable, be sure to check again before leaving home for your program or event.  Notice will be posted with as much advance notice as possible.

During the week, whenever the public schools are closed, Baird programs are cancelled for the day.

Please keep this information for future reference.

Thank you.

Kate Schmidt, Director
South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs
