TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETS TONIGHT, LIQUOR STORE AND MORE ON TAP

Tonight's Township Committee meeting has a long list of issues to be reviewed, including the controversial approval of yet another liquor store on Springfield Avenue.

We first reported on December 26 that the furniture store next to Deals at 1715 Springfield Ave. would be converted to a liquor store. The TC, acting as the Alcohol Beverage Control Board, will review the request to transfer the license that had been used for the former A&P Store on Valley St.

The TC also plans to approve bond financing for the purchase of the former Maplewood Baptist Church at 106 Burnett Ave. for $405,000.

Also on the agenda tonight are appointments to the Maplewood Arts Council, an ordinance to accept credit cards for certain fees, and revisions for Springfield Avenue redevelopment areas,

See the full agenda HERE.

And, of course, you can always show up and speak your mind at two public comment sections. So show up, ask a question, give them a piece of your mind or just a pat on the back.

Remember, they work for you.
