CHS PRINCIPAL: PARCC PROBLEMS "BEING ADDRESSED"

Columbia High School Principal Elizabeth Aaron said problems with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) last week, which included some parents being wrongly informed that their youngsters were not in class, were "being addressed."

We reported Sunday that the test had been delayed on some days last week and, when re-testing began Friday for some, parents were wrongly sent automated calls saying their child had missed "one or more classes."

Aaron issued this statement to Maplewoodian.com today:

Email info about make-ups went home last Sunday from me.

There were some additional log-in problems similar to ones
we had in March.

Attendance errors were/are being addressed if they arise.

If students did not make up the test as scheduled, the
call may have gone out as the testing students were
scheduled that way.

Remember that you can always check Powerschool
to see if your student is in class as
teachers take attendance each class period.

Best,
Elizabeth Aaron
