CHS YEARBOOKS ALL NOW ONLINE: FROM ROY SCHEIDER TO FRED PROFETA

All 100 editions of the Columbia High School yearbook are now online at the Maplewood Library digital site.

The library has digitized every page of every edition from 1915 to 2015.

Among the photos is a young future mayor Fred Profeta, Class of 1957.

        

Also Bruce Springsteen drummer Max Weinberg, Class of '69, and Actor Roy Scheider, Class of '50. 


   

And more recent show business success, Elisabeth Shue, Class of '81.

The digitization of the yearbooks was funded by an Essex County Local History Grant and the Bequest of Milena Pribramska.  Maplewood Library’s Digital Archive was established in 2013 when the library digitized its hundred-year collection of the News-Record of Maplewood and South Orange (for use within the library only).  The Archive also contains the Maplewood Real Estate File, an extensive collection of historic photos and sales records of Maplewood homes, available to all on the Internet.

There are still a few gaps in the library’s yearbook collection. You can help build the archive if you happen to own any of the following yearbooks: 1917, 1918, 1919, 1925, 1952 or 2002.
