NEWARK WAY RE-OPENED, BUT DETAILS OF POLICE INVESTIGATION STILL UNCLEAR; HAZ-MAT ON SCENE

Newark Way between Boyden Avenue and Schaefer Road has reopened after a police-related closure this morning, but it is still unclear what caused the investigation.

A hazardous materials truck from Nutley remained on scene along with Maplewood Police, New Jersey State Police and the Essex County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators have yet to reveal the cause of the response, but we will continue to seek details. The location is the rear yard of Seton Towing at 31 Newark Way, which is also apparently a police impound yard.
