MAPLEWOOD OLYMPIC FENCER VIEWING EVENTS PLANNED

Two viewing events are being planned for those who want to watch Maplewoodian Ibtihaj Muhammad compete for the fencing gold in the Rio Olympics next week.

First, the New Jersey Fencing Alliance on Boyden Avenue plans to host a viewing party on Monday beginning at 8 a.m.

Also, Mayor Vic Deluca recently said that plans are underway for a similar event at the Woodland. More details to follow as they become available.

If (sorry, when) Muhammad advances on Monday, her next competition would be on Saturday, August 13. A similar viewing is planned for that time as well.
