SETH BOYDEN EASES CONTROVERSIAL RECESS POLICY

Principal Damion Frye
Seth Boyden School principal Damion Frye has apparently eased the school's controversial new recess policy that had required students to choose a lunch-time recess activity and stick with it or face possible discipline.

Frye sent a letter home Friday that indicated an easing of such an approach and sought to make clear students could remain in a chosen activity or change their minds, adding no discipline would occur.

The letter states, in part:

That policy follows an earlier requirement that parents picking up students show an I.D. That was reversed on Wednesday, but recently received coverage in The Star-Ledger.
