The two-year agreement covers the period from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2015. The salary increase is 4.25% over the two year agreement, inclusive of increments, with retroactive pay to July 1, 2013.
The vote was 7-0, with one abstention. Board Member Johanna Wright did not vote because her daughter is a district teacher. One board member was absent.
The agreement followed a year of tough negotiations that included the South Orange Maplewood Education Association declaring an impasse.
