MMS POWER OUTAGE TRAPS CUSTODIAN

From Maplewood Middle School today:

Good Afternoon,

Today a few minutes before 1:00 pm, the power went out in our entire building.
The 8th graders were at the end of their lunch period and the 6th and 7th
graders were in class. As the 8th grade teachers came down to the cafeteria to
assist in escorting the students safely back to class, the power came back on.
The 6th and 7th graders stayed in place for a few minutes until we could
ascertain that the power was going to stay on.

Unfortunately, one of our custodians was stuck in the elevator when the power
went out. The fire department was called to assist in helping him get out. The
power came on as the firetrucks arrived and the custodian was able to exit the
elevator.

Ordinarily we would not inform you of a brief power outage; however, given the
presence of the fire department, we wanted to keep you informed that everyone is
safe and everyone is fine.

Sincerely,

Louis E. Brown
Interim Principal
