Willie Barr's 4-yard touchdown run in the
second quarter proved to be the decisive play as Irivington held back
Columbia in a 6-3 triumph in Irvington.
Columbia took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter after Mark Steiner's 22-yard field goal. Irvington took the lead on Barr's touchdown but missed the subsequent extra point. From there defense took over for Irvington, led by Garland Barham who finished with a team-high 18 tackles along with a forced fumble. Barr finished with 105 yards on 22 carries for Irvington.
Brandon Robinson finished 11-for-13 with 115 yards passing for Columbia, which was led offensively by Kwasi Graham (six carries, 46 yards), Kiambu Jones (13 carries, 39 yards) and C.J. Ibezim (five receptions, 47 yards).
